Embark on an old school roguelike adventure packed with nostalgia, use a cunning array of magic spells and potions to help you when swords and brute force fail, and discover Sword of Fargoal, the genre-defining dungeon crawler game that inspired generations.

The Sword of Fargoal is somewhere in the depths of the dungeon, waiting for you to find it and bring it back to the surface. Its no easy task. Not only do you need to find your way around each maze-like floor to discover the stairs down to the next level, but you also need to survive any traps and monsters you stumble across on your travels. Each time you play, the dungeon and its contents change.

Youll find plenty of help along the way- tools, equipment, and magic spells. You never quite know what youll find in the dungeon, but if you make the most of what you discover, you may well survive long enough to put your hands on the legendary blade itself. Of course, escaping with the sword is another task entirely.

This games addiction for the simple, old, dungeon gameplay makes it wicked!

The addiction strikes again. Now this is how they should make Angband for iPhone

Update 1.7: still great well worth the money. Not only is this a fun game and well worth 4$ but they keep updating it and adding new features. Keep up the great work. One quick suggestion - it would be great to have instructions for some of the new features on your website - I cant figure out how to use the wands. Oh well, Ill keep playing and try to figure it out. Thanks for the great game!

Awesome retro flavour. It is challenging as well, and the randomness makes if a different game every time. Love the sounds, simple but well suited. The animations are a nice touch. Lots of fun

I love this game, keeps getting better with every update, price is a steal.

Some bad moments

Game was fun for roughly 5 minutes its very repetitive nothing extraordinary to be honest I wish there would be shops to buy more gear and stats when you level up

This is a weird mish mash if new and old with amateurish graphics mixed with ok graphics mixed with the old crappy sounds from the 80s ... It just doesnt work well, especially with the annoying swipe controls.

I play during my train ride while I listen to music or podcasts so a game that kills my iPod audio is basically a waste of money for me. I wish there was some way to see that in the store before buying. I wanted to contact the developer directly but the only option I could easily find was their forum which isnt very iPhone friendly and requires registration. No clear path for support. I suspect I would like the game if I played it, but the audio issue is a dealbreaker for me.

This is one of the best, if not the best rogue-like game out there. Sadly,it freezes on the iPhone 6 Plus. There have been no updates in years and no developer responses to emails. Its probably time to remove it from the App Store.

You could play prior to ios 10, just without being able to change the player name. Now the game doesnt work at all. Do not purchase, the one hit wonders single wonder is finally completely broken. This game had its day on the Commodore 64, thirty years ago.

Im not giving this a 2 because the game is bad... Its actually pretty awesome. What stinks is that 1/2 the time I come back to the game to continue, it freezes on the continue screen. The only option I found is to uninstall and reinstall, the start over again... I hope this gets fixed.
